Checks before leaving
Check an item after reviewing it. A check does not mean a purchase, confirmed booking or permission to travel.
Check the documents accepted for each leg and their validity during your trip. Rules depend on nationality, destination and transport.
Official guidance: ANAC ↗Check with the consulate for your nationality, purpose and length of stay, including transit and return. Living in French Guiana does not by itself determine Brazil’s entry requirements.
Official guidance: Ministério das Relações Exteriores ↗Check documents and any required authorisations with the authorities and carrier for your group and route. Also check suitable seating and safety equipment.
Official guidance: ANAC ↗Consult travel-health guidance for your destination, activities and individual circumstances. Check vaccination, prescriptions and medicine transport with a qualified professional; entry requirements and health recommendations are different.
Official guidance: Ministério da Saúde ↗If you buy or already have cover, check territory, dates, activities, limits, exclusions, excess and how to request assistance. Confirm cover in the contract; a card benefit does not guarantee automatic cover.
Official guidance: SUSEP ↗Ask providers which payment methods they accept. Check international or multicurrency cards, fees, conversion, limits and withdrawals with the issuer. Compare the total exchange cost with an authorised institution.
Official guidance: Banco Central ↗Check device compatibility, activation, allowance, price and route coverage with your operator and manufacturer. Coverage maps are estimates, not a signal guarantee. Check international roaming conditions if used.
Official guidance: Anatel ↗Download the AXITUR municipality pack before leaving and test it without a connection. Keep necessary contacts and confirmations securely on your device.
Confirm dates, guests, address, check-in and check-out, late arrival, inclusions and cancellation. Keep confirmation issued by the property or booking channel.
Check each leg with the carrier: date, local time, terminal, arrival deadline, baggage and changes. Allow time between connections and check for changes before departure.
Official guidance: ANAC ↗Agree on meeting point, outward and return times, contact, site access and an alternative for delays. For boats, check boarding, service on your date and safety equipment with the operator.
Check the licence accepted for the country and vehicle category, validity and vehicle papers. For border crossings, confirm rules with the competent authorities. For rentals, agree on pickup, return, deposit, fuel and cross-border permission.
Official guidance: Contran, Resolução 1.020/2025 ↗Check steps, surfaces, toilets, distances, boarding and any assistance you need with each provider. For air travel, check airline procedures and deadlines. One listed feature does not confirm accessibility of the whole route.

Passport and travel documents
For Brazilian citizens in Brazil: consult the Federal Police to check documents, apply for and track a passport. Use the official service to check fees, processing times and appointments.
Foreign visitor: for documents issued by your country, consult your national representation. Living in Cayenne or using the site in French does not determine your nationality or travel document requirements.
Find consular support ↗The AXITUR tourist passport is a personal diary. It does not replace a passport, visa or other travel document. AXITUR does not collect documents or payments for these services.

Protecting children and teenagers
Responsible travel also helps prevent sexual exploitation and child labour.
Suspect a violation? Use official reporting channels. Protect the child’s identity: do not publish photos, names or identifiable accounts on AXITUR.
For tourism teams
Train your team to prevent exploitation and refer concerns to the appropriate channels. Read the guidance and requirements of Brazil’s Code of Conduct.
