Translation apps
For free conversation, by voice or with the camera, use a translation app on your phone. These features belong to the apps, not to the AXITUR website.
Google Translate
Free, for Android and iPhone. It has a conversation mode (each person speaks their own language), camera translation of signs and menus, and languages you can use offline.
Tip: while you still have internet, download Portuguese in the app so you can translate without signal.
Apple Translate app (iPhone)
On iPhone, use the Translate app, which comes with the device. Open the app and tap Conversation: each person speaks their own language and the translation appears on the screen.
To use it offline, download the languages first: on recent versions of iOS, open Settings, tap Apps, then Translate and Languages.
No internet? Use the ready phrases
Everyday phrases for accommodation, restaurants, transport, shopping and health, in your language and in Portuguese, to show to staff.
AXITUR does not receive what you say, type or photograph in these apps.
